Many members have been asking how one becomes a officer. Although every level is different there is an application process for every level:
Chapter:
All members who are interested in being in an officer position for the 2008-2009 school year please see Ms. Carmical or myself as soon as possible so we can have an idea of who the leadership team will consist of.
Sometime soon an application will be made available. Once you have filled it out applying members will be asked to remain at school one day to be interviewed by a panel who will then make the decision of the ten officers and the alternates if Ms. Carmical sees that one is not carrying out their duties as an officer.
Region:
For all members who are interested in applying to be a regional officer please do not be scared to have the title 'regional officer' we encourage all members who will put the time and effort into fullfilling their duties to apply.
In order to apply one can visit either the region website or the Kentucky FCCLA website (both are located at the bottom of the home screen) then click on officer applications and fill out the necessary information and have it returned to Ms. Carmical no later than FEB. 1st!!! the current executive council will then meet and decide who we believe to be most suitable.
You will be notified as soon as a decision is made and asked to attend the Spring Regional Meeting to be inducted and recognized.
State:
All members who plan to run for state officer can visit the Kentucky FCCLA website and click on applications fill out the necessary papers.
Although we would like to see Whitley County have a state officer the future we RECOMMEND that every interested member read the obligations that one is required to carry out if elected. We want the elected officers to represent KY in a positive way and would love to be a part of it. So please be fully aware of what you are getting yourself into when applying.
Things a State Officer canidate must complete:
1. On stage speech
2. One set of round robin interviews
3. Must have a prop for the onstage speech
4. One on stage situational question
5. Of course the obvious represent the WCHS FCCLA chapter in a way that all members would be proud of.

If you have any further questions feel free to contact either myself or Ms. Carmical.
We hope to see many members apply!!!!!!!
;D
